Nylon Removable Denture

Removable dentures and micro-prosthetics made from nylon are designed to restore chewing function in cases of partial or complete tooth loss. Nylon dentures differ from acrylic ones primarily in material. Nylon is a flexible, highly biocompatible plastic that contains no residual monomer, making it a comfortable and tissue-friendly alternative.
Nylon removable dentures and micro-prosthetics are designed to restore chewing function in cases of partial or complete tooth loss. Unlike acrylic dentures, nylon prostheses are made from a flexible, hypoallergenic plastic that offers excellent biocompatibility, as nylon contains no residual monomer. These dentures are typically retained using clasps, and for stronger fixation, a special adhesive may be recommended. In cases of complete edentulism, fully flexible nylon dentures are generally not practical. Instead, the prosthesis may be fabricated with reduced flexibility to maintain essential structural and functional characteristics while preserving its hypoallergenic nature. Nylon dentures offer several advantages: they are an excellent option for patients allergic to acrylic or metal; they are lightweight, soft, flexible, and durable; they maintain their appearance over time; and they can be matched very closely to the natural color and shape of the patient’s teeth for a highly aesthetic result.
